SANGEETHA RASIKA SANGAM - March 2012
The 147th Program of Sangeetha Rasika Sangam, Chennai 92 was held at Sri Siva Vishnu Temple, Natesa Nagar, Virugambakkam P.O., Chennai 600092 on Thursday the 29th March, 2012 (Republic Day) - between 6.30 pm and 9.00 pm.
Vijay TV Super Singer Fame Sri Sathya Prakash was the vocalist. Thiruvallur Sri Parthasarathy accompanied him on the violin and Thiruvidaimaruthur Sri Radhakrishnan on the Mrudhangam. Sri Satya Prakash began his concert with a Rakshanam in the Raaga Nattai. This created a vibration in the midst of the audience who enjoyed it. The next one was Thirukkolam Kaana Vareer of Ambujam Krishna in Nattakurunji. That was a melodious devotional piece. He then chose a very popular Krithi of Papanasam Sivan Ka Va Va in Varali - yet another melodious one enjoyed by the audience very well. Mysore Vasudevachar's excellent popular Krithi in Kamas viz., Brocheva was sung very well. The next one was the Main Raaga Kalyani. His exhaustive alapana showed his maturity in his performance. Matha Neeye of Madurai Somu was the Krithi chosen which was yet another melodious peace. Then he sang Thaye Yasoda of uthukadu Venkata Kavi in Thodi, and a Krithi in Hamsaanandhi viz., Sankara Srigiri. He sang a few songs such as Pazham Nee Pazhani in Bhairavi, Thanthai Thai Irundhal of Gopalakrishna Bharathi in Raaga Shanmuga Priya, Amba in Neelambari and Navasiddhi before the concert concluded with Mangalam.
