Sangeetha Rasika Sangam was started in September 2000, to fulfil the long standing desire of residents of West Chennai, particularly in the Virugambakkam area which did not have any organisation to arrange for Classical Music concerts in this area. Rasikas in this area had to go a long distance to satisfy their cultural needs. Starting modestly the Sangam decided that though it will have members paying subscriptions, the concerts will be open to all, as one of the aims was to give to the general public of this area the opportunity to hear good classical concerts. The Sangam is also encouraging local talents and upcoming artistes.

The Sangam has organised so far 114 concerts and conducted Thyagaraja Aradhanas and Dheekshithar day. We hope to continue the good work with the support of Sponsors and Members residing at Chinmayanagar, Natesa Nagar, Sayee Nagar, Ilango Nagar and nearby areas.
